Children's Naturopath in Newcastle

As a children’s naturopath in Newcastle, Jasmin Polley supports children from birth to 17 by looking beyond symptoms to understand what may be contributing to their health concerns.

With over 20 years of clinical experience, two children of her own and seven nieces and nephews, Jasmin combines evidence-informed care with a genuine understanding of family life. She also takes the time to explain health and treatment options in a way that both you and your child can understand (depending on their age…of course!).

How we help children

Every child is different, so every plan is built around your child specifically. Families come to us for support with:

  • Gut and digestion support: tummy pain, constipation, loose stools, bloating, reflux and fussy eating.
  • Skin: eczema, rashes, hives and stubborn breakouts.
  • Immunity: recurrent colds, ear infections and children who seem to catch everything.
  • Sleep: trouble settling, frequent waking and restless nights.
  • Mood and focus: anxiety, ADHD, big emotions, and difficulty concentrating.
  • Food reactions and allergies: intolerances, sensitivities and unexplained symptoms.

Using gentle, evidence-informed naturopathic care, nutrition and, where helpful, functional testing, we work to understand why your child’s body is reacting the way it is, so that we can then support it to find its balance.

Our Functional Medicine Practitioner, Jasmin Polley, can work with children of all ages from 0-17 years

Functional Medicine Practitioner and naturopath Jasmin Polley offering Wellness Programs in clinic

We know that visiting a health practitioner can feel like a big experience for a child, and for you too. Our goal is to make every appointment feel calm, welcoming and unhurried. Jasmin takes the time to understand your child’s full health story, listen to your concerns, and explain the “why” behind each recommendation in clear, everyday language, so you leave feeling informed, supported and confident about the next steps.

Initial appointments run for around one hour. While this allows plenty of time to explore your child’s health history and current concerns, it can feel like a long time for younger children or those who are highly active. A parent or guardian will need to be present, as we’ll discuss important details such as your child’s health history, symptoms, lifestyle factors and any recommended testing.

Where possible, some families find it helpful to have two parents or carers attend. This can allow one adult to keep little ones entertained with a walk, snack or play while Jasmin gathers the information needed to complete a thorough assessment. Together, you’ll have time to discuss your concerns, ask questions, complete any physical assessments (for in-person appointments), and develop a personalised treatment plan for your child.

Please note: Every child is different, and some health discussions are better had away from curious ears. If there are topics you’d prefer not to discuss in front of your child, please let us know before your appointment. Jasmin understands that children can sometimes worry when they hear information they don’t fully understand, which is why she aims to explain health matters in an age-appropriate way that helps them feel safe, involved and reassured.

For more sensitive or complex concerns, a short phone consultation can be arranged either before or after your appointment. In many cases, follow-up appointments are conducted primarily with parents or caregivers, allowing test results, treatment options and ongoing health strategies to be discussed openly while considering what’s most appropriate for each child’s age, personality and individual needs. Our goal is always to support both your child’s wellbeing and your confidence as a parent.
