The Health Benefits of Mindful Eating
If you want to get all of the nutrient potential from the foods that you eat, good digestion is essential. However, in our fast-paced world it is commonplace to rush our meals, eat our lunch at our desk or gulp down our breakfast on our way to work. Unfortunately, these habits can have numerous negative effects on our health.
The benefits of mindful eating are numerous and I have attempted to outline the main ones in the following video. I hope you find it useful and make an effort to actually stop and ‘eat’ better!
Please leave feedback and share with your family and friends.
Next week’s topic: Sleep – The health benefits of getting the right amount, how much do you really need, is napping helpful (when and for how long) and tips to improve your sleep environment and sleep preparation routine.
To learn more about Mindfulness I highly recommend the book “Mindfulness: A practical guide to finding peace in a Frantic World” by Prof. Mark Williams (Professor of Clinical Psychology at Oxford University). It is full of the latest research on the benefits of mindfulness and also includes an eight week course with a guided meditation CD, a must read!
